When the Knights take the field on Saturday, they'll have a brand new look.

UCF, who was previously partnered with adidas, officially became a Nike school in July. The new uniforms were unveiled later in the month and select players have worn the new designs.

"I think they're really nice," said punter Blake Clingan. "They look hip, they're tight, a little tighter than the adidas jerseys. Otherwise, they're pretty comfortable and they look good."

Wide receiver Kamar Aiken was among the players who gave the new design a test drive and provided feedback to adidas in regards to comfort and performance.

"We gave them performance feedback," said Aiken. "Not as far as the design, but for material."

Aiken noted that the jersey he wore felt heavy, like the adidas uniforms, and that the version the team wears on the field Saturday will likely be lighter.

"Other than it being heavy, it was good," said Aiken. "They're tight, they look good and they feel good."

Coach O'Leary officially unveiled the designs during season ticket holder pick up in late July. The team will have six uniform options to choose from, including pants, and ordered jersey's in white, gold and yes, even black. Both fans and players enjoy the black jersey's, but it's unknown whether the team will don the black jersey's this fall.

"That's Coach O'Leary's call," said Clingan. "I know we like wearing black as a team, so if we can wear it once or twice this year, that would be good."

Despite the buzz about the new look for the Knights this season, the team is more focused on their performance on the field, not the newly added Swoosh on their uniforms.

"It's like going to practice wearing a different shirt. It's not going to affect the way you practice," said Clingan.

"Our team might have a little more swag, be a little more pumped up, maybe that'll help us. When we wear black out there, we'll be even a little more pumped up."

When UCF takes on South Dakota on Saturday, the logo on the jersey might be different, but the team has still spent the summer focused on winning football games.

"We are more excited about playing really," said Aiken. "The new jerseys, we've tried them out. There's not too much excitement [about that]. Really, we're just getting ready to play."
