Here is how some former Knights performed in the NFL in Week 8:
1. Rashad Jeanty (Cincinnati Bengals) - Jeanty led the Bengals with nine tackles in the loss to Houston. It was his fourth game of the season with at least seven tackles. His is second on the team with 52.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Jeanty hurt his foot during the game and left the lockerroom with a boot on his foot.
2. Kevin Smith (Detroit Lions) - Smith was relegated to four carries for 12 yards in the 25-17 loss to Washington, but he also had seven catches for 50 yards. Smith currently leads Detroit with 268 rushing yards and is second on the team with 146 receiving yards.
3. Asante Samuel (Philadelphia Eagles) - In the Eagles 27-14 victory against Atlanta, Samuel grabbed his first interception since Week 3 against Pittsburgh. It was his third pick of the season. Samuel also recorded four total tackles to help shut down rookie quarterback Matt Ryan.
4. Michael Gaines (Detroit Lions) - For the third consecutive game, Gaines had two catches, this time for 28 yards. At his current pace, he is projected to finish with 21 catches, which would be the second highest total of his career.
5. Cornell Green (Oakland Raiders) - Green made his seventh start for the Raiders in their loss to Baltimore. He has made 17 starts for Oakland the past two seasons combined.
6. Travis Fisher (Detroit Lions) - Playing in his first game in three weeks, Fisher recorded a tackle and a pass defensed.
Noteworthy: Daunte Culpepper - The former Minnesota Viking, Miami Dolphin and Oakland Raider came out of retirement last week to have a meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The meeting never happened, and ESPN.com reported that Culpepper met with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday and started contract negotiations. … Green Bay safety Atari Bigby is still recovering from a hamstring injury. … Jacksonville wide receiver remains sidelined due to an infection after his knee injury.
